Welcome to 2010 Season 

Welcome to another year with Illinois USSSA one of the fastest growing Fast Pitch Organizations in softball. More Directors and tournaments have been added to the Illinois tournament schedule.  Illinois continues to send many teams to the World Series Tournaments. You cannot “buy” your way into a World Series but most of our tournaments have more than just one World Series berth to award. Also, Illinois sent 78 teams to World Series tournaments in 2009.

Once again, Illinois teams represented themselves well in World Series competition. CONGRATULATIONS to the Glen Ellyn Phillies as the newly crowned 14U “A” World Series Champions. The Phillies captured their title at Disney Wide World of Sports going 7-1. All World Tournament Team members include; Amanda Montriand, Danielle Chitkowski, Stephanie Chitkowski, Rachel Cohen, and Devan Parkison. Also, Rachel Cohen was awarded Offensive MVP and Stephanie Chitkowski Outstanding Pitcher and Devan Parkison was the Tournament MVP. Illinois Statik from Sterling finished 4th and Cheyenne Burnett and Stephanie Kester were selected to the All World Tournament Team.

Also, having a great World Series finish was Northern Ice of Lake County finishing 2nd place in the 11U at West Des Moines, IA on July 27 with a 9-3 record. All Tournament Players include; Kayla Wedl, Kristin Koepke Cassandra Arns and Brooke Sefcik. Jennifer Behen was awarded Offensive MVP and Defensive MVP was awarded to Carly Mattson

And congratulations to LT Blazers of LaGrange placing 3rd at the 18U “B” at Salisbury, MD with a 6-2 record. All World Team members; - Maggie Daly, Stephanie Polich and Liz Demitro. Xplosion of Batavia finishing 4th   at the 14u”B” World series with a 7-3 record. All World Team members include; McKinzie Mangers and Katie Neubauer At Shawnee, KS in the 14U “B” Minooka Magic 14u Blue of Minooka, IL placed 3rd with 8-2 record. All World Team members include;  Sara Novak, Brianna Thompson, and Kelli Holstine. At the 12U “A” at Disney Wide World of Sports the Homer Hawks of Homer Glen placed 3rd with a 7-3 record. All World Team members awarded were - Angelina Medo, Morgan Kirk, and Shannon Jaekel

And, at the 9/u Open at Branson, MO - Naperville Diamonds, placed 4th with 3-4 record. All World Team selection was - Nicole Cuchran.  Again, Congratulations to all the teams who competed and did well at the World Series. Congratulations to the Illinois Directors who were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the Illinois USSSA during the 2009 season. With the addition of 15 new USSSA Directors/Organizations it was very difficult to chose a winner for the “Rookie of the Year” The awards were presented to St Charles Comets, Sterling Steam/Illinois Statik and the Geneva Foxes. The State Director Award of the Year was presented to Gene Head of LT Blazers for outstanding service to the Illinois USSSA..  

Most all Illinois Tournaments have been added to the websites but check these sites throughout the season for any updates or any additional tournaments. Also, check the websites during the season for any possible rule and policy changes and additions.

The Illinois USSSA uses 2 web sites for our program: www.usssa.com, the National web site, allows you the following; enter most tournaments with a credit card, view USSSA Playing Rules & By-Laws, enter your team’s roster on line, download World Series Tournament information packets, pay your team registration fees, purchase team insurance, view your team National Ranking Points and much more. For pertinent Illinois info go to www.ilusssa.com website for a complete listing of Illinois tournaments, Director’s addresses and phone #’s, State Champions, past and present, including;  All State Tournament Team Awards, World Series Awards, USSSA Advantages, Rule Changes, At Large Berth to World Series, Umpire, Team Registration & Tournament Entry Forms and more.

USSSA team registration is $25 for the new season if paid direct to the State Office or an IL USSSA Director or you can register on www.usssa.com web site for $30 with a major credit card. The season is August 1 thru July 31.  All teams must be USSSA registered prior or at the time of entry into any USSSA tournament. Team Registration Forms and Tournament Registration Forms are available on the www.ilusssa.com website.
